FAQs

Do you coach Treaty or Supremacy?

Treaty and FFA are where I am strongest and where most of my coaching happens. I will still take Supremacy questions, but if Supremacy is all you want, I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person.

How good do I need to be?

None. Treaty punishes bad habits at every level, and the earlier you fix them the less there is to unlearn.

Which civilizations do you coach?

All of them. Every civilization in Age of Empires III: DE. If you have a civ you love and cannot make work, that is the one to bring.

How do I pay?

PayPal. Once we have agreed what you are booking, a payment link is sent to you automatically, by email or on Discord, whichever you gave. Nothing is charged on this site and no card details are ever typed here.

How much is a private session?

It depends on what you want out of it, so there is no fixed price. Request a time and he will reply with a quote. If it works for you, a PayPal link follows. If it does not, nothing happens and you have lost nothing.

Do I need to be in the Discord?

It is the easiest way to reach me and it is free to join. Everything else happens there too: tournaments, scrims and people to practise against.

Is there a guide for each civilization?

Yes. Every one of the 24 civilizations has its own page under Tools, then Civilizations, with a written guide and decks to copy. You can also click a flag on the home page to open that civ's guide. They are free and need no account.

What are rated games?

Lobby games that count towards a rank on this site: Supremacy, Treaty or Independence, 1v1 or teams up to 4v4. Link your AoE III account once, then challenge a player or join a room, and put the match code in the lobby name. The result is read from the game's own records, so nobody reports a score and nobody can fake one. It is free.

How do rated ranks work?

Every rated ladder ranks you from Rank 1 to Rank 50 by your Elo, under seventeen titles from Conscript to Field Marshal. Everyone starts on Rank 19, Master Sergeant, at 1000 Elo. Beating a stronger player moves you further than beating a weaker one, and your first ten games move faster so you find your rank quickly. 1v1 and team games have separate ladders for each mode, and the rated page lists every title with its Elo.

Can I play rated games on an Xbox or Microsoft Store account?

Yes. Steam players link by signing in through Steam. Xbox and Microsoft Store players link by hosting one lobby with their link code in its name, and the site picks it up from there.

What is the difference between my level and my rank?

Your level, 0 to 50, is how much you have taken part in the House: courses, tournaments, challenges and the forum. Your rank, 1 to 50, is how well you play rated games. They are kept apart, so one never moves the other. Both are on your profile.

How do I go up in level?

Signing up puts you on Level 1. A course adds 10, 15 or 22 levels depending on the package. Playing in a tournament adds 1, securing a tournament challenge 3, winning one 5, and taking on a community challenge 1 or 2 depending on the challenge. The scale runs from Level 0 to Level 50, so levels are deliberately scarce: each of these pays once, entering the same bracket twice does not pay twice, and there is nothing you can do repeatedly to farm your way up. Your level and everything that earned it are on your profile.

How do badges work?

Some come on their own: signing in on consecutive days, and reaching Level 26 and Level 50. The rest are won in community challenges and given out by staff once the result is in. Badges you have earned stay. Pick up to three to show beside your name in the forum and on your profile.

How do I get into the Hall of Fame?

Win a House of Jaegers tournament. Every winner gets a banner on the Hall of Fame page, with the date, the format, the rules and the runner-up. Brackets and sign-ups run in the Discord, and any rank can enter.
